In order to diffuse knowledge of the life and the works of Federico García Lorca, the Huerta de San Vicente has developed a program of activities in those cultural areas related with contemporary art, literature and thought. Since the year 1995 these activities have taken place through thematic expositions, concerts, scenic arts, publications, poetry and prose readings, round tables, book presentations, conferences, theater, music and dance workshops, puppet shows, film series, activities for children, etc.

The activities of the Huerta de San Vicente have been made possible through permanent support from the City Hall of Granada and the patronage of varous public and private entities.

Since the year 2005 Granada's City Hall has left the Federico García Lorca Foundation in charge of the management and coordination of the activity program of the Huerta de San Vicente, and of obtaining the funding necessary for this purpose.
